08-31-2004 WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO SAY? Political Voices From The Arts Community
October 2nd and 3rd, 2004 AT GRACE CHURCH VAN VORST
Corner of Second & Erie streets
Basia's painting "Fall" is going to be exhibited at this show.
According to the curators Meredith Lippman, Jim Legge, and Garth Kobal,
"Being one of the largest group shows in Jersey City Artist Studio Tour this year, WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO SAY? will promote controversy and conversation through art regarding a wide variety of political issues extending beyond the upcoming Presidential election. The call for art has attracted a large range of voices wishing to make political statements in a society that is increasingly uncomfortable with speech of any kind be it political, pastoral, or poetic. This show has created a hydrogen bomb of visual and performance art through the outpouring of personal views on the world of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, through losses and gains, in certainty and in doubt, and rendered in wood, paint, glass, ceramic, light, video, photography, coffins, AK47s, and fortune cookies. This is an art exhibit which operates as a clearinghouse of opinion." Fall
